Current AmeriCorps opportunities
ˇCityArts! is seeking twenty (20) part-time Teaching Artists to join our AmeriCorps Expanded Day Teaching Artist Project (EDTAP) team. This program will be the first of its kind in our state to assign a corps of teaching artists to enrich the expanded day model of student learning. Through artist residencies in schools, increased after school curriculum-based projects and innovation in creative skills building, EDTAP aims to improve student performance, attendance, behavior and literacy levels and establish a strong foundation for youth to achieve to their fullest potential from the moment their school day starts, to after school, to home and to their community.
EDTAP AmeriCorps Part-time Teaching Artists will primarily teach during the afterschool portion of the expanded day in programs including PASA Club AfterZone, 21CLC and CityArts Open Enrollment. Afterschool arts will connect with academic curricula and introduce students to new artistic media/concepts to excite the development of their own creative practices.
